August To DoI was just informed that it is August 5th. That was two days ago. Where does time go? It is not surprising that I had to be informed of this. I should really pay more attention. I want to be this organized focused and directed person who actually knows the date so I write to do lists and set goals then forget to to do them. I am busy doing well, I'm not sure what, but darn it I am busy.
After enjoying a laid back summer for a couple of months, Apparantly I am always laid back. Unless of course I actually have to be some place at a certain time on a certain day then I am overwhelmed. This is the reason I cannot be bothered with knowing what the date is unless I have an appointment where someone is going to charge me $50.00 for a no show.
So, as I do each month, as soon as someone tells me it is a new month, I make a to do list and I really am going to get focused and organized starting with my next scheduled appointment.
Here is August
I always plan to plant consecutive crops in my raised beds but it never seems to happen, surprise! So now I rip out the dead peas and spent early season crops and begin the emptying of the beds.
For some of you back to school chores and shopping will consume your August schedule. I remember those days. Driving all over creation for the perfect back pack, school supplies and a new wardrobe for your 10 year old that would make even Paris Hilton jealous.
Clean your de humidifier if you are using one.
August is a good time to clean and organize your car.
This month I will make pesto with my basil crop.
Order bulbs for fall planting
Dead head perennials.
Bleeding heart and Irises can be divided as the foilage yellows.
Finish summer projects or put them out of mind and on the list for next year.
I really can't believe that August is here but my family wouldn't lie to me about this. The summer has flown by.
This week I am making my favorite recipe for using up some of that zucchini that is piling up. I call it Zucchini Paprikash. My husband's mom is from Hungary. Our favorite family recipe that we always have her make when we congragate as a mob is Chicken Paprikash. She makes home made noodles as well. She is amazing. This is a zucchini version of the same dish. I will also share the original recipe for the chicken paprikash soon. I have to admit it never tastes as good as mom's. She is one of those amazing cooks who tells you how easy her dishes are to make and talks you through the steps. There are no recipes. I swear she leaves out vital info. just so you can never ever make it taste as good as hers. I know I would. Honesly she would never do that but still it is always better when mom makes it. I have been able to come really close except fot the home made noodles. Rice is nice.
Have a great week and thanks for stopping by. In case you don't know this, it is August. Wow, the summer has flown......
